Eastern European: Demand For Bottled Water To Rise In Future |

As per a latest report, hot summers and high living standard are likely to drive the demand in Eastern Europe for bottled water
As per an estimate by Food and beverage market research organization, "Consumption for bottled water rose about 9 percent to ten billion liters in the year 2005 and it's expected to rise constantly in the coming five years."
While the normal annual consumption in the Eastern European of 33 liters for a person still goes far below of the 108 liters boasted in Western Europe. The report estimates that the gap is put to slight changes over the next few years. They added in their report that the bottled water consumption in the Eastern European region could exceed the landmark of 11 billion liters in 2006.
The multinational companies have been in a hurry to grab this emerging market and shift their business eastward. Over the last few years, MNCs like PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, and Nestle Waters are busy in making acquisitions in this region.
Despite the good reputation of MNCs, key players have found rigid competition from local brands already existing in the market. Over the last few years Brands like Karlovarske, Myrhorod and the Czech Republic's in Ukraine have possessed strong recognition between domestic consumers and have aided to drive demand.
Romaqua, a Romanian water bottled manufacturer, which supplies a quarter of total domestic consumption. Now, the company has invested nearly 10 million euros for its infrastructures to fulfill the growing demand.
