Organic Baby Products Attract Parents
Friday, 15 June 2007

Parents are highly motivated by the thought of organic products, including creams, clothing, and food prepared without chemicals, which

parents feel to be too harsh for their delicate and pristine children.

As a good following has been developed for baby food during the previous years, a $206Mn industry previous year, as per the latest figures of Organic Trade Association there has been a rapid increase in the interest in organic cleansers and clothes.

Organic fibers, used for cloth diapers and infant clothes, sales rose 40% in the years 2004 -2005 and reached $40Mn, and fiber for child teen market rose by 52% and reached $3Mn. In the meantime, organic products for personal care, which include baby care products, grew by 34% and reached $26Mn.

It's still unclear whether health benefits are offered by organic products or not. According to most experts, only the most delicate child may have a trouble with traditional clothing or products of personal care. However, parents seem to be highly stimulated by a desire of keeping their kids safe from some artificiality and harshness of the world as long as possible.

Manufacturers are still paying from 30percent to 50percent more for organically grown cotton compared to the conventional, according to Anne Dorsey, merchandise manager- Hanna Andersson's baby apparel. "It is not as simple to come by, farmers take a bigger risk, and there's a smaller yield."
