Food Processing in China Flourishing

China is emerging as one of the largest consumers of food all over the world. The market for processed food, specifically in urban areas of China, is constantly growing. The annual food consumption in china accounts for ½ of the world’s production of pork, 1/5th each of ice cream and poultry, 1/3rd of rice, while almost 1/8th of the total beef consumption.
